PNG's in PSP

In Paint Shop Pro (PSP), PNGs are image files that use the Portable Network Graphics format. The key feature of PNGs is that they support transparency, which makes them very useful in graphic design, especially for layering images or working with complex compositions.

Feature 1

Create PNG's

Here I will show you how to create images with a transparent background, called PNG's or PSDs.

First, choose a picture you want to edit. I am going to work with this yummy cake from Pexels.

Tools you have to use:

The Freehand Selection Tool in PaintShop Pro 8 offers various modes, including the Point-to-Point mode,
which allows you to create custom, precise selections by connecting a series of points.

The Magic Wand Tool selects pixels that are similar in color to the pixel you click on. This makes it useful for selecting uniform areas like backgrounds or objects with consistent colors.

With the next tool settings, you'll need to experiment a bit to see what works best for your image.

I usually switch between a Feather of 0 and 2 (sometimes more), and either enable Anti-Alias to make the edges softer or leave it unchecked, depending on the effect you want to achieve.
